Some schools choose to allow everyone to pick their own yearbook photo, whilst others like to have all of the photos in a similar format, so take their own or use photos from the school system, read more about the various options here.

If your school has opted to let you select your own photo choosing the right yearbook profile picture can be a tricky decision, as it could be the last thing some people have to remember you by!

You might want to choose a classic passport style photo, this is a great option as it will still look great in years to come.

However, many people want to include more of their personality in their picture. If you are really passionate about a hobby you might want your photo to reflect this such as a picture from your last school production or an action shot on the rugby pitch.

Funny photos are also a popular option but just be careful not to go too far - whichever style you opt for, make sure that your photo appropriate for a yearbook.

Our tip is to ask yourself this before you submit your photo - “Is that really how I want to be remembered in years to come?” If the answer is “Yes!” then go ahead!
