Getting your yearbook project off the ground can be the hardest part of all but with the support of the Wave Ed team we can ensure your project will run smoothly from start to finish. Here are our top tips for getting started...

  1. Talk to a professional - our number one tip is to talk to us! We are here to support you and do this day-in-day-out, we will listen to your requirements and offer advice that is tailored to your needs.

  2. Get a good committee together - it sounds obvious but ensure your committee are committed, having people drop out can be a pain! We talk more about this in another yearbook blog post..

  3. Set realistic deadlines - it's obvious that you need deadlines but it's easy to set unrealistic ones, then when you inevitably miss them motivation and focus drops. Think about what else you have going on in school (and out of school) and work around those commitments. Set short deadlines for a few tasks at a time, before you start setting more deadlines and more tasks!

  4. Don't procrastinate - let's face it we all put off the boring or difficult jobs at times. It's much better to tackle them head on and get them out of the way so you can enjoy the fun tasks!

  5. Organise the profiles early - individual profile entries typically make up a big chunk of most books so it is important to organise them early and efficiently. First decide on the profile question headings, then let your advisor know so we can help you to collect in the responses. We can also help you to organise the profile photos, we'll cover photos in another more detailed blog post...
